Expert: maura macaluso Date: 4/13/2008 Subject: Shalaque for Bartop
Question We are looking at finishing our bartop with a layer of aluminum and then an authentic cotton flag. We would like then to place a layer of salsa finish over it. Is this a logical possibility without the shalaque damaging the flag? If so, where is the best place to purchase the shalaque and what type do we look for?
Thanks for your help
Chad
Answer Dear Chad
I am unfamliar with a "salsa Finish" but there is an excellent epoxy for bartops called Bartley Bartop Epoxy. Epoxy should not damage the flag but will darken the colors as any liquid product would. Sorry I can't be of more help to you. Thanks for the question and have a good day.
