Question My cats whiskers seem to be breaking off and splitting. He has had feline acne for about 1.5 years and the past 6-8 months I have noticed this about his whiskers. Should I be concerned?
Answer It could be that the medicine you are treating his acne with is causing the breakage. I don't know what you are using but it if this sudden it could be from that. Otherwise it could be diet related or some other condition starting up. Some shampoos or betadine can cause breakage if used too much.
It isn't very common for cats to lose their whiskers like this so you might want to run it by the vet and ask them what the problem could be also.
