The Strawberry Blonde



The Strawberry Blonde was a 1941 Warner Brothers film starring James Cagney. It was nominated for an Oscar in 1941 for Best Scoring of a Musical Picture. The film features songs such as "Bill Bailey", "Meet Me in St. Louis, Louie," and "And the Band Played On".

Synopsis

In 1890's NYC Biff Grimes (Cagney) falls in love with society girl and strawberry blonde Virginia Brush (Hayworth). The plot becomes thickened when Biff's friend Hugo Barnstead (Carson) vies for Virginia's affection as well.
